India’s 67th Independence
Day was celebrated at GSFS with fun and fervour. The festivities began with the
hoisting of the tricolour by Mrs Elsamma Thomas, Founder Principal of GSFS, and
the inauguration of the day-long celebrations. The leaders of the five houses –
Elegance, Excellence, Emancipation, Jubilant and Joyous – organised the events.
The audience which comprised the
GSFS family was welcomed by Vishnupriya Bhushan.
Pallavi Mishra anchored the events of the day. Priyam Porwal spoke on the
topic, ‘The Importance of Independence Day Celebrations in Free India’. Anupama
Dhanania spoke on ‘The Relevance of Independent India for the Youth’. Prachi Agarwal delivered the Expression of Gratitude
In
her Independence Day message, the Principal emphasised on making complete use
of the freedom that our great leaders had earned for us. She shared her dream
of a world of empowered women, through the values and principles that GSFS
impart to its students.
The
patriotic dance performed by the GSFS students was a fusion of Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi,
Rajasthani, Bhangra and Bharathanatyam dance forms.
