Mountaineering Session

The seven days from 31 August, 2011 to 7 September, 2011 marked the exploratory period in the lives of the students. The experience challenged their capabilities and skills and also helped them to be one with nature.

They were taught Mountain Manners and Customs, introduced to Mountaineering Equipments, Tent Pitching and Rope Knots. The experience in Free Hand Rock Climbing, Anchoring and Belaying was rigorous. Rappelling was a sporty event. Trekking and Bush craft was followed by two day camping at the Gudalur Farm. The camping was enjoyable with a camp fire and hands on experience in cooking.

Tyroline traverse across the river, trekking into the forest and obstacle course added to the escapade and adventure of the program.
