On the 21st of November, 2019 the Rotaract Club of Good Shepherd Finishing School Ooty organized an inter-school event ‘Fad to Fit’ on the theme – ‘Unleash your strength to health’ for grade IX, X, XI and XII for schools in and around the Nilgiris. Two events were organized simultaneously, one of the events was “Pull up your socks”, a fitness competition & the other “Mystery to magic”, a cooking event. The event was based on health & wellbeing. Through the competitions, awareness was created on the importance of Nutrition and Dietetics and to have a balance on all aspects of health – physical, mental, emotional & spiritual. The participants were addressed, by the expert’s voice on the importance of eating right, by Ms. Jyothi, Faculty in Nutrition and Dietetics and maintaining healthy peer relationships by Ms. Nisha, Counsellor of the Good Shepherd Finishing School.
Ten Schools participated. The participating Schools were:

CSI - CMM Higher Secondary School, Ooty

The Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College, Ketti

Good Shepherd International School, Palada, Ooty
Each School presented the theme in their own unique way.
The Chief Guest for the program was Rtn Dr. V Balasubramaniam, President Rotary Club Nilgiris West, Rtn. Mrs Elsamma Thomas, Charter President of the Rotary Club Nilgiris west and Principal of GSFS graced the occasion along with the first lady Rtn Mrs. Sunita Balasubramanium, Rtn. Stephen Cruz, Secretary Rotary Club Nilgiris West, Members of the Rotary Club Nilgiris West & Members of the Rotaract Club, JSS college.
The procession was led by Ms. Pranidhi Jain, Rotaract President followed by Dr. V. Balasubramiam, the President of the Rotary Club Nilgiris West, Ms. Rajyalakshmi, Vice President of the Rotaract Club, Mr. Stephen Cruz, Secretary Rotary Club Nilgiris West, Ms. Rishika Satish, Secretary Rotaract Club & Ms. Kruti Khandelwal, Treasurer Rotaract Club. The meeting was called to order by the President of the Rotaract Club, Ms. Pranidhi Jain. The gathering was lead into prayer by the Vice-President of the Rotaract Club of GSFS, Ms. Rajyalakshmi M. The Collaring of the Rotaract President Ms. Pranidhi Jain was done by the Rotaract Secretary Ms. Rishika Satish.
The winners of the ‘Pull up your socks’ competition were:
1st Position - Oxford Continental School, Ooty
2nd position - Good Shepherd International School, Ooty
3rd position - Cantonment Board Secondary School, Wellington
