ONAM – 2013

Onam is celebrated with great vigor and joy by the people of Kerala.  At GSFS, the staff and the students celebrated Onam like one big family. The day started with a prayer and speech on the significance of Onam. Then a magnificent  RANGOLI with flowers of all kinds. The flowers where plucked from our own gardens at GSFS ASTA MARIA, BOTTLE BRUSH, SUNFLOWER and ROSE were all arranged perfectly and at the middle of the RANGOLI stood the classic “Nila vilakku”.
The staffs were in the gorgeous "mundum neriyadhum" the traditional dress of the women of the Malayali community. The grace and appeal of the golden borders contrasting with the white mundu neriyadhum made them look like angels. All of us yearned for a time like that of King Mahabali-a time when prosperity, joy and love blended. All this ended with a sumptuous "Onam Sadhya".
