Interaction with Cambridge University Representative

Cambridge University official Mr. R. Sundarrajan visited the school for a session with the Finishing School students. His interactive session on English Language tests brought clarity on the Business English Certificate (BEC) examinations for which all the students will appear. He briefed the students on English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Business English Certification. He explained the differences between academic oriented language learning and skill -based language learning. He opined that English is dealt as a subject in the schools which doesn’t help the students to enhance the skill in the language. He related that speaking and writing are productive skills which had been nurtured and evaluated whereas the receptive skills; comprehension and listening had been ignored during schooling.
