The festivities of Gurupurab was observed by GSFS students on 10 November, 2011. The students visited the Gurudwara in DSSC, Wellington in the morning. They listened to the holy hymns sung in the gurudwara and engaged themselves in ‘seva’ by helping to make the parshadas. The narration of the life story of Guru Nanak by the priest was listened to, with rapt attention. After the final prayer, ‘Ardas’, the ‘kada’ parshad was served. This was followed by the langar which was delicious. The students were happy and grateful to God that they had a divine time on Gurupurab.
