FACE PAINTING COMPETITION

Face Painting Competition – The Rotaract Event (23 November, 2018)
‘EACH AND EVERYONE CAN MAKE A CHANGE IN THE WAY WE LIVE OUR LIVES AND BECOME A PART OF THE SOLUTION AND MAKE THIS A BETTER WORLD’.
On the 23rd of November, the Rotaract Club of Good Shepherd Finishing School, Ooty, (GSFS) organized the Inter-school ‘Face Painting Competition’ on the theme ‘The Burning Earth’ for Grades X, XI and XII for school in and around the Nilgiris. The schools that participated were:
Breeks All India Secondary School, Breeks Memorial Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Cantonment Board Secondary School, Crescent Castle Matric Higher Secondary School, Crescent Castle Public School, Good Shepherd International School, JSS International School, St. Joseph’s Convent Anglo-Indian Girls School, The Oxford Continental Higher Secondary School, Unique Public School and Woodside Public School.
Each school interpreted and presented the theme in a very unique way. A few schools portrayed the ill-effects of global warming, pollution and deforestation. A few others through their paintings depicted the rapidly declining rate of flora and fauna as a result of human activities. One of the major points that was reiterated throughout the event was climate change and the resulting consequences across the globe.
The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Mrs. Meenakshi Venkataraman, President of the Rotary Club Nilgiris West. Mrs Anandhi Chandran and Col. Joshi, members of the Rotary Club, Nilgiris West judged the Event. Ms Elsamma Thomas, Charter President of the Rotary Club Nilgiris West and Principal of Good Shepherd Finishing School grace the occasion. The meeting was called to order by the President of GSFS Rotaract Club, Ms. Mahalakshmi. The gathering was lead into prayer by the Vice President of GSFS Rotaract Club, Ms Minal Jain.
The winners of the competition were -
St. Joseph’s Convent Anglo-Indian Girls School won the 3rd position.
JSS International School won the 2nd position.
Good Shepherd International School won the 1st position
